The first person who saw the resurrected Jesus

Today Mary Magdalene has risen early: interesting! (“The early bird gets the worm.”) To go and meet Jesus Christ in the tomb: interesting! (It takes great love to go to such a sad place.) The tomb is empty: interesting! (Jesus has risen, although she does not yet know it.) Mary knows Jesus, but she does not recognize Him when she sees Him risen: interesting! (Jesus Christ is not simply someone who has “come back.”) Jesus helps her recognize Him. How? By calling her by name: “Mary!” Immediately: “Teacher!” Interesting: His saying her name is enough! (They were good friends and knew each other well.) —How many times has Jesus called you by name? Mary immediately threw herself at the feet of Jesus Christ. How long did it take you? Does God need to call you many times?
