Wednesday of the Thirty-second Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text Lk 17:11-19
As he was entering a village, ten lepers met him. They stood at a distance from him and raised their voice, saying, “Jesus, Master! Have pity on us!” And when he saw them, he said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” As they were going they were cleansed.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we see how our attitude of faith can move Jesus Christ’s Heart. Those lepers, overcoming the social rejection they suffered and with a good dose of audacity, approached Jesus and "compelled" Him with their trusting request: "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!" Jesus' response is immediate: they are cured at once.
- A bit of faith can do much: if we do not see more miracles it is because we don’t "compel" the Lord very much.
