Jesus said to them, "Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing." And all spoke highly of him and were amazed at the gracious words that came from his mouth.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we have a curious scene. Jesus is preaching in the synagogue of His hometown. Everyone listens to Him with curiosity. Jesus Christ has read a prophecy from Isaiah and says that it is fulfilled in Him. They are amazed! But not everyone… Some turn against Him, saying that He does not come from God. Arguments break out and, in the end, they want to throw Him off a cliff…
—Curiosity is not enough. Without faith, in the end, one winds up driving Jesus away.
