Tuesday of the Twenty-second Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text Lk 4:31-37
Jesus went down to Capernaum, a town of Galilee. He taught them on the Sabbath, and they were astonished at his teaching because he spoke with authority.
Gospel's Commentary
Today Jesus goes to the synagogue. He—who is the Lord, who is God—went to the synagogue every Sabbath to listen to Sacred Scripture and to pray. Every Sabbath! God Himself, in the person of Jesus, acts as Man before God. We needed this example! We can no longer say that we do not know what to do in order to find God. He entered, and He stayed: in the Eucharist!
—The Jews said: “What kind of word is this? With authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.” How many problems we overcome by going to the house of God!
