Then he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Peter said in reply, “The Christ of God.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today, just as in Jesus’ time, many things are said about Him: “Some say John the Baptist; others, Elijah…” The same thing happens with the Church and the Pope: that it should open up; that it should keep quiet; that these are things of the past… There are opinions for every taste! As if this were science fiction. Before God, should we not seek more and opine less? How comfortable it is to have opinions about Jesus Christ without following in His footsteps!
—But when Jesus asks you personally, “And you, what do you say about Me?” what will you answer? Or before others, what do you say about Him?
