Today Jesus defends us again from the foolishness of the Pharisees. It so happens that some disciples were walking with the Lord. As they were hungry, they began to pluck ears to eat the grain (as if they were eating "popcorn"). But, what a mistake! It was Saturday. Sin, said the Pharisees. But it wasn’t God who said it, it was made-up by the Pharisees. -The dramatic thing is that 20 centuries later we keep on doing the very same thing: we love "religion à la carte"... We invent our own religion (which usually coincides with what we like). But it is no longer a thing of God! For I tell God what things are like...
