Peter proclaims his unwavering faith in Jesus: "You are the Holy One of God."

Peter proclaims his unwavering faith in Jesus: "You are the Holy One of God."
Twenty-first Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)
Gospel text
Jn 6:60-69
Many of his disciples returned to their former way of life and no longer accompanied him. Jesus then said to the Twelve, "Do you also want to leave?" Simon Peter answered him, "Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and are convinced that you are the Holy One of God."
Gospel's Commentary
Today, Simon Peter makes a wonderful gesture for Jesus. Almost the entire group of Jews abandons Jesus because His words seem too hard for them. The Lord remains alone. He even asks His twelve Apostles: «Will you also go away?». —Like Simon Peter we say to Jesus: —Lord, sometimes your words are difficult to understand for me, but I trust you. Because, if not to you, to whom shall I go? You are the Saint of God!
