Jesus came to Capernaum with his followers, and on the Sabbath he entered the synagogue and taught. The people were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one having authority.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we witness the astonishment of some Jews, because of the authority with which Jesus preached and acted.. Even demons - unclean spirits- are frightened before Jesus Christ. Jesus expelled them. In Jesus we find clear doctrine and a coherent behaviour.
- See, He shuts up demons: He does not want to be revealed by the evil spirits. Instead He wants you to adore Him, He wants you to speak to Him, and He wants you to acknowledge Him. Christ is looking for apostles who will speak out His words.
