It happened in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. On coming up out of the water... a voice came from the heavens, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today we are witnessing a most solemn scene: Jesus receives Baptism! With this gesture, He instituted Christian Baptism and emphasized the importance of this sacrament of the New Covenant.
- To resuscitate with Christ we must live his Passion. God makes it easy for us: with Baptism we participate in the Passion of Jesus "without pain". What else do you want?
