"Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid." Peter said to him in reply, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." He said, "Come." Peter got out of the boat and began to walk on the water toward Jesus. But when he saw how strong the wind was he became frightened; and, beginning to sink...
Gospel's Commentary
Today Simon Peter surprises us: he is able to walk on the sea, imitating Jesus, and then suddenly fear and doubt take hold of him… and he begins to sink. —Are we going to trust Jesus only when the wind is not blowing, when there are no problems? Do we take God for a magician? Of course the wind will blow! It should also be natural for us to place our hope in God.
