Gospel text
Lk 21:12-19
“They will seize and persecute you, they will hand you over to the synagogues and to prisons, and they will have you led before kings and governors because of my name. It will lead to your giving testimony."
Gospel's Commentary
Today Jesus-prophet prepares us for the path. It was not the first time He warned us about the tribulations (misunderstandings, persecutions ...) that would come-and have come- over time. No one has ever been persecuted as Jesus Christ and His disciples! St. Paul himself persecuted us to death. But, "Trust me, I have overcome the world." - Why does God allow so much persecution? Only He knows, but we glimpse in it a great Love: how much Patience! How much Mercy! And this is how God overcomes the world. We can also do it: “By your perseverance you will secure your lives.” Martyr’s blood, seed of Christians!
