Jesus asks the Father for the unity of His followers

Jesus asks the Father for the unity of His followers
Thursday of the Seventh Week of Easter
Gospel text
Jn 17:20-26
"... That they also may be in us, that the world may believe that you sent me."
Gospel's Commentary
Today we hear how Jesus Christ insists on praying to the Father by asking Him that all of us be united. Jesus prayed a lot for this purpose. It is a very important question, and yet, how many divisions are there to be found: between families, between people, between nations... Men will believe that Jesus is God if they see that His disciples live together and love each other. If we are not gathered around Christ, people will wonder: those Christians, whom do they follow? —Love among all men begins with love and unity among those at home.
