November 30th: Feast of Saint Andrew, Apostle
Gospel text
Mt 4:18-22
Jesus saw two brothers, Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew, casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen. He said to them, “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” At once they left their nets and followed him.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we celebrate St. Andrew, St. Peter’s brother. Andrew was a disciple of John the Baptist; and one day he heard the Baptist proclaiming Jesus as "the Lamb of God". Then, he went and followed the Lord. It was the same Andrew who spoke to Simon Peter about Jesus. — Today, we see the two of them - Andrew and Peter- while working. Jesus calls them and they immediately follow Him. How long will it take for us to follow Him?
