Monday of the First Week of Advent
Gospel text
Mt 8:5-11
A centurion approached him and appealed to him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, suffering dreadfully.” He said to him, “I will come and cure him.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today, a captain of the Roman army gives us an example of humility and faith. Although he was an important person, he felt he did not deserve to have Jesus coming under his roof. Jesus Christ is the best medic: He is God! So the centurion replied: "but just say a word, and my servant will be healed». So it was! -Christmas: God was born as a child. If I become “small" and pray confidently, He will help me. This is what He came to the Earth for!
