“Zacchaeus, come down right away, because today I have to stay at your house”

“Zacchaeus, come down right away, because today I have to stay at your house”
Tuesday of the Thirty-third Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Lk 19:1-10
Aman there named Zacchaeus, who was a chief tax collector and also a wealthy man, was seeking to see who Jesus was; but he could not see him because of the crowd, for he was short in stature. So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree in order to see Jesus.
Gospel's Commentary
Today Zacchaeus gives us a great example. We are always looking sideways to see if someone is looking at us and the way they look at us! Zacchaeus does not care what people say. For him there is neither stature nor sideways looking, only Jesus counts. And God doesn’t let him down: “Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must stay at your house.” - Final result: “He came down quickly and received him with joy” ... You, who are you waiting for? When you are not with Jesus, with whom are you?
