Jesus passed through towns and villages, teaching as he went and making his way to Jerusalem. Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few people be saved?” He answered them, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I tell you, will attempt to enter but will not be strong enough."
Gospel's Commentary
Today we witness a useless question—typical of human curiosity—and, at the same time, a profound answer from God. What does it matter to us whether many or few are saved? Are “statistics” going to save us?
—What truly matters is to love in deed and in truth. And yes, with effort, because “easy loves” do not work—just check the latest statistics!
