Jesus condemns the superficiality of the Pharisees and asks them to be just
Tuesday of the Twenty-first Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Mt 23:23-26
Jesus said: “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites. You pay tithes of mint and dill and cummin, and have neglected the weightier things of the law: judgment and mercy and fidelity."
Gospel's Commentary
Today we continue listening to Jesus Christ’s complaints because the scribes and Pharisees made souls suffer. So many rules about things and so little understanding for people! So much concern for things and so little heart! That is why the Heart of Jesus is “bursting.” —Lord, I do not want to be blind. Do not let me go my own way, inventing a religion to suit myself. Jesus, lead me along Your path!
