Sunday 33rd (A) in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Mt 25,14-30
«Imagine someone who, before going abroad, summoned his servants to entrust his property to them. He gave five talents of silver to one, then two to another, and one to a third (...). He who received five talents went at once to do business with the money and gained another five. (...). But the one with one talent dug a hole and hid his master's money».
Gospel's Commentary
Today we hear the "Parable of the Talents". Background theme: the use of time. The one who hid the money didn’t do it to steal it, but just to give it back. There's the problem: “just to give it back”. The image of the one who does not takes risks! - He didn’t do anything bad nor good, but he deserved to be called a "bad and lazy servant. Love is never remains neutral.
