"Again, the Kingdom of heaven is like a merchant searching for fine pearls. When he finds a pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it."
Gospel's Commentary
Today we have another image of the Kingdom of Heaven: the fine pearl. A “fine pearl” sounds like something highly prized. In this case, Jesus adds that it is of “great value.” In other words, there is a great deal of “added value” there, as they would say in the business world.
—We should not live with our heads in the clouds without looking at the ground, because we would stumble; but neither should we forget Heaven, or we might lose our way. Is Heaven really your “added value”?
