“The Kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that a person took and sowed in a field. It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants."
Gospel's Commentary
Today Jesus shows us another characteristic of His Kingdom: humility and discretion. In fact, God Himself was born small and died “small.” The Church was born small and must remain humble. The Empire (Rome), its Emperor (Caesar Augustus), the King (Herod), the Governor (Pontius Pilate) were all much greater…
—As the centuries have passed, the “Parable of the Mustard Seed” has been fulfilled: nothing remains of those “great” ones; Jesus Christ, however, is alive and lives everywhere.
