Parables of Jesus: The wheat and the tares, the mustard seed and the yeast

Parables of Jesus: The wheat and the tares, the mustard seed and the yeast
Saturday of the Sixteenth Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Mt 13:24-30
The slaves of the householder came to him and said, 'Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where have the weeds come from?'
Gospel's Commentary
Today we remain in the fields of the Kingdom. The weeds appear! “Sowing weeds” sounds bad and has a bad reputation. Yet some people devote themselves to doing just that, confusing souls. We should not be surprised: Jesus Himself had to put up with them. He went about doing good to everyone and, as you can see, ended up on the Cross. —The followers of Christ must expect the weeds. Patience! Jesus condemned no one; rather, He came to save what was lost. God’s Justice includes “God’s Patience.”
