“Blessed are those servants whom the master finds vigilant on his arrival. Amen, I say to you, he will gird himself, have them recline at table, and proceed to wait on them.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today Jesus makes a remarkable statement: God - which is our God - wants to be our "servant". Let us ask ourselves: in the universe of religions, is there any other religion that believes in a "God-servant"? No. Such audacity is unique to Christianity.
- Last of all, for Christian’s faith the "God-servant" is not new. Indeed, the prophecy of Isaiah (about 600 years before Christ) devotes lots of space (chapter 53 especially) to the "suffering servant of Yahweh": it is referred to the passion of Jesus Christ. Did you know?
