Saturday of the Twenty-eighth Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text Lk 12:8-12
“Everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but the one who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven."
Gospel's Commentary
Today, the infinitely merciful God surprises us. What will not be forgiven? Why won’t it be forgiven? The answer is simple: God can’t "impose" His forgiveness! There rises up with all its strength "my" freedom: God becomes impotent in front of her! If someone prefers to laugh or make fun of God ... without attending to His mercy, then that someone stays in the mockery and can’t even "smell" the forgiveness of God.
- Jesus, I’m even afraid that You gave us so much power. From now on I give You my freedom: Yours is, my Lord!
