Whoever welcomes the little ones and the humble, welcomes the Lord

Whoever welcomes the little ones and the humble, welcomes the Lord
Monday of the Twenty-sixth Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Lk 9:46-50
An argument arose among the disciples about which of them was the greatest.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we are surprised reading the debate that the Gospel tells. We even feel embarrassed: disciples who are living with Jesus - the Son of God! - arguing to see who is more important ... We could say that those "grown-up men" behave like children. I wish they were more like children and less like adults! Jesus invites them to imitate children (in their simplicity, smallness ...). “He took a little child and stood him by his side. Then He said to them, 'Whoever welcomes this little child in my name welcomes me'.” -Either we become "children", or we are left without Jesus. Perhaps it was not an accident that God came to the world as a child!
