Sixteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (B)
Gospel text
Mk 6:30-34
The apostles gathered together with Jesus and reported all they had done and taught. He said to them, “Come away by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today the Apostles are back from their mission. They are so happy! Jesus invites them to rest while He listens to their stories. They get together in a boat, perhaps that of Simon Peter’s. They spent most of the day in that mood. _When they get to the lake bank though, a big mob was waiting for them. Jesus’ rest time becomes a time to serve: He listens to His Apostles and attends to the people. And you?
