The Sermon on the Mount: “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you"

The Sermon on the Mount: “Do to others whatever you would have them do to you"
Tuesday of the Twelfth Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Mt 7:6.12-14
Jesus said to his disciples: “Do not give what is holy to dogs"
Gospel's Commentary
Today, Jesus Christ asks us to treasure our faith and to value the holy things of God. Jesus has brought God down to earth. God is with us! He is here: in the Church, in the Eucharist and the other sacraments, in the Bible (His written Word), and in His faithful people. Yet there is often so much contempt for God... Some would prefer a “performer-God”: if You work a little miracle... if You turn stones into bread... if You come down from the cross... then I will believe in You. —How easy it is to mock the humble God! But when man rejects God, man also ends up rejecting man. Just take a look at history!
