Gospel text
Mk 5:21-43
One of the synagogue officials, named Jairus, came forward. Seeing him he fell at his feet and pleaded earnestly with him, saying, “My daughter is at the point of death. Please, come lay your hands on her that she may get well and live.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today it is Jairus who pleads to the Lord. Jesus has just landed and a mob jumps on Him and pushes Him along. As he walked to Jairus’ house, a woman who had been sick for 12 years –full of trust-, touches Jesus’ mantle cloak and finds herself instantly cured… In the meantime the daughter of Jairus passes away… _ “Your daughter is dead," they said. "Why bother the teacher anymore?” But Jesus’ answer is “Do not be afraid; just have faith.” Just have faith!
