Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard John and followed Jesus. He first found his own brother Simon and told him, "We have found the Messiah" — which is translated Christ —. Then he brought him to Jesus.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we see how the group of followers of Jesus begins to form: it all begins with the courage and honesty of John the Baptist. John himself speaks so well of Jesus Christ that his own friends go after Jesus and stay with Him. And those, in turn, speak to others ... and so came Peter (later he will be the first Pope!).
