Peter, the prince of the Apostles, and Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles

Today the Church celebrates these two great apostles and teachers of the faith. Peter was the "rock" placed as the foundation of the Church; Paul, the voice given to the Gospel in his fight against the Gentiles (the non-Jews). They received a "peculiar" treatment from God. To Simon, Jesus Christ changed his name, and gave him the mission to confirm his brothers in the faith. Saul of Tarsus was chosen while persecuting the Christians: the resurrected Jesus appeared to him (about 5 years after the Ascension). - Lord, grant me enough strength to continue the building of the Church built on Peter and Paul.
