Gospel text
Mt 5:1-12
"Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven."
Gospel's Commentary
Today we contemplate Jesus walking uphill to speak to a bunch of followers that wanted to listen to Him. He speaks to them about the Beatitudes. In this Sermon of the Mountain Jesus Himself invites us to courageously live the virtues (poverty, cleanliness of soul, mercy…) and to suffer with patience the slings of life (injustices, sadness…). _Jesus never promised us a life free of difficulties. But He does guarantee us His help, and the prize for our effort in following Him. Never lose courage!
