Parables of Jesus: The murderous vine-growers

Parables of Jesus: The murderous vine-growers
Monday of the Ninth Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Mk 12:1-12
"A man planted a vineyard... Then he leased it to tenant farmers and left on a journey. At the proper time he sent a servant to the tenants to obtain from them some of the produce of the vineyard. But they seized him, beat him, and sent him away empty-handed..."
Gospel's Commentary
Today the "Parable of the murderous vine-growers" speaks of men who reject God. A mystery! For this rejection leads nowhere: it is like a suicide! "Lord, to whom shall we go?" asked Peter. Good question! Without God everything ends here and there is no future. Remarkably, many prefer to have no future provided there is no God Who can ask them for something. —Why? –Because it is "my" own time ..., "my" own future ... –But it is God who gives you this time ..., and your future interests Him! Why are you fleeing nowhere?
