March 19th: Solemnity of Saint Joseph, spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Gospel text Mt 1:16.18-21.24a
The angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary your wife into your home. For it is through the Holy Spirit that this child has been conceived in her. She will bear a son and you are to name him Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
Today we remember the happiest day of Saint Joseph. The Virgin was pregnant by the miraculous intervention of God. It is the mystery of the Incarnation! And to respect the "silence" of this mystery, Joseph thought that he should leave Mary alone: She and her Son!
-Respect! And to respect, strength! This is how St. Joseph is: he did not rush, he prayed, he obeyed. And he was happy!
