August 15th: Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Mary said: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my Savior (...). From this day all generations will call me blessed: the Almighty has done great things for me."
Gospel's Commentary
Today the prophetic words of the Virgin’s prayer are fulfilled: all generations call her blessed. And rightly so! The Mother of God is taken up into Heaven: all of her, with her whole humanity, body and soul! The angels marvel at such beauty. In time, we too will follow in the footsteps of our Mother: body and soul as well!
—So then… be very, very careful with your body! In Heaven there is room only for “eco-friendly bodies” (for wild partying, there is an “alternative” place).
