Jesus said to his Apostles: “As you go, make this proclamation: ‘The Kingdom of heaven is at hand.’"
Gospel's Commentary
Today we go more deeply into the “mission of an apostle.” What must be done? “Cure the sick, raise the dead, cleanse lepers, drive out demons.” That seems difficult and even “outdated.” Not at all! Jesus speaks to everyone and for every age.
—Let us read Christ’s words in a moral key. “Cure”: let us encourage and speak with those who are suffering morally; “Raise”: let us guide and accompany others toward the Grace of God (the Sacraments); “Cleanse”: let us radiate a good atmosphere, let us raise the temperature; “Drive out demons”: let us give good example and speak with others, showing the paths of truth and goodness, and thus free ourselves from diabolical bonds (sometimes, “all too fashionable”).
