Jesus prioritizes doing good over keeping the Sabbath

Jesus prioritizes doing good over keeping the Sabbath
Francesc Badia
Wednesday of the Second Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Mk 3:1-6
Jesus entered the synagogue. There was a man there who had a withered hand. They watched Jesus closely to see if he would cure him on the Sabbath so that they might accuse him.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we feel hurt at the malice of those Pharisees: they adapted religion to their particular opinions, instead of asking themselves what does God want. Their hearts did not rejoice with Jesus’ miracle: He cured a man with a paralyzed hand. But as He did this on Saturday, they became angry. — Does it not look ridiculous to you? The worship of God is genuine if it drives me to love my neighbor.
