Parables of Jesus: The unmerciful servant. The need to forgive

Today things are made clear: we must always forgive (“seventy times seven”). Try multiplying 7 x 7 about 70 times: you won’t be able to! God can—perhaps that is why He still has not grown tired of us and never will. If God gives you a generous heart, it will be easier for you to forgive. Let us learn to excuse others, because we owe God so much! —The ending of today’s parable is tragic: the heavenly Father will hand us over to the jailer “unless each of you forgives your brother from your heart.” Whoever refuses to forgive makes himself incapable of asking for and receiving forgiveness! Tragic!
