Praying is the best way to know what Jesus wants from each of us

Praying is the best way to know what Jesus wants from each of us
Friday of the Twenty-ninth Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Lk 12:54-59
Jesus said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west you say immediately that it is going to rain–and so it does; and when you notice that the wind is blowing from the south you say that it is going to be hot–and so it is. You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky; why do you not know how to interpret the present time?"
Gospel's Commentary
Today Jesus seems like a “weatherman” (like the person we see on our screens talking about the weather today and what it will be like tomorrow). But Jesus Christ reminds us that we should also be able to recognize the signs of the times. Us? —Yes! “Why do you not judge for yourselves what is right?” A very timely question in an age of uncertainty and confusion! How can we do this? By listening to Jesus Christ, speaking with Him through prayer, and following His teachings. Jesus is the “Lord of the times.” Through Him, we can better understand what is happening in the world and discern what is right.
