When Herod realized that he had been deceived by the magi, he became furious. He ordered the massacre of all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity.
Gospel's Commentary
Today, three days after Christmas, we remember those children who, unknowingly, were innocent martyrs even before St. Stephen. Herod was going after Jesus, but ended up killing all the children of the region except Jesus.
-When man pursues God, man ends up pursuing man. Whoever plays against God will not defeat God, although he will surely make others suffer. In any case, God rewards those who suffer for His cause.
