The apostles are sent by Jesus Christ, living witnesses of His message of salvation

Today, as we celebrate these two apostles, we notice two things. On the one hand, that night Jesus spent praying for his future chosen ones. A whole night! Let us think: how many nights did Jesus spend praying for me? Because in the Church we are all chosen (there are no players and spectators in this “game”: "all of us" play the game with Jesus Christ). - On the other hand, it is impressive to see in the same group of chosen people a "partisan" of the Roman Empire (Matthew) and, at the same time, Simon, an "opponent" of the Roman dominion. God calls everyone. And "everyone" means "everyone": God is like that!
