The faith and disbelief of Saint Thomas: a path towards understanding the truth

The faith and disbelief of Saint Thomas: a path towards understanding the truth
July 3rd: Feast of Saint Thomas, Apostle
Gospel text
Jn 20:24-29
So the other disciples said to him, “We have seen the Lord.” But Thomas said to them, “Unless I see the mark of the nails in his hands and put my finger into the nailmarks and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today we hear Thomas’ response when the other Apostles tell him that they have seen the risen Jesus. God does not deserve Thomas' answer! "To touch ", "to touch" and "to touch": we, the people, have developed the obsession that, if we do not touch, we do not believe. But what kind of God do we want to have? A doll…? A pet…? -In the case of God, is it not more appropriate to answer, "My Lord and my God"?
