The angel Gabriel was sent from God to a town of Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the house of David, and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming to her, he said, “Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today is exactly 9 months left until Christmas. Today, Mary speaks with the Archangel Gabriel and by giving her "yes" to God, she becomes pregnant with Jesus, the eternal Son of God. "Behold, I am the handmaid of THE LORD JEHOVAH; Let it be done to me according to your word": a brief and effective response!
"The Virgin always responds well and quickly. That is not easy ..., especially if one does not pray!
