Apparition of the Virgin to Juan Diego in Mexico, promoting peace and evangelization in the Americas

Today we remember that in the year 1531 the Virgin appeared to Juan Diego on a hill and asked that a temple be built there, which is now the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Mexico). Every year, more than 8 million people go there to visit her. Yet the Virgin is praised throughout the whole world: thus the prophecy is fulfilled that “all generations will call me blessed.” —Humble and small, like Saint Mary, like Saint Juan Diego. Then God can truly show His greatness!
