The millennial "cyber-apostle" of God

The millennial "cyber-apostle" of God
October 12th: Memorial of Saint Carlo Acutis
Gospel text
Mt 5:13-16
“You are the salt of the earth (…). You are the light of the world (…). Just so, your light must shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your heavenly Father”.
Gospel's Commentary
Today we celebrate the “cyber-apostle” of Jesus: Saint Carlo Acutis (1991–2006). Carlo encountered Jesus within his family; later at school, and above all, in the sacraments celebrated within the parish community: he made his First Communion at the age of seven, and from then on, his life was marked by a deep love for the Eucharist, which he considered a “highway to heaven.” He went to school, spent time with friends, played football, and also attended Mass every day, read and prayed with the Bible, and prayed the Rosary, driven by his devotion to the Virgin Mary. He was a catechist and carried out works of charity for those in need. Carlo also developed a special talent for computers and was considered a genius in that field. Combining his skills with his evangelizing and missionary zeal, at just 14 years old, he created virtual exhibitions on topics of faith. —When he discovered that he had leukemia, Carlo offered his suffering for the Pope and the Church.
