Gospel text
Mk 9:41-50
Jesus said to his disciples: «If anyone should cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble and sin, it would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a great millstone around his neck». Jesus said to his disciples: “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him if a great millstone were put around his neck and he were thrown into the sea."
Gospel's Commentary
Today we hear some very harsh words. It is a very strong warning coming out of Jesus’ tender heart: He cannot tolerate that we may "offend" the souls (my sons, my brothers...). We must lead and accompany our loved ones through good roads, where they can grow as individuals, and as children of God. -Do you like the food without salt? The good salt that we are should not become tasteless, and much less, poisonous.
