Jesus asks his followers to trust in God: let us have faith!

Jesus asks his followers to trust in God: let us have faith!
Monday of the Thirty-second Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Lk 17:1-6
And the Apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith.” The Lord replied, “If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you would say to this mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today the apostles ask for the best that God can be asked for: - Increase our trust in You. The history of Christianity shows that Jesus' response was not exaggerated: the faith of Christians has stirred empires and raised cathedrals. The attitude of faith - that is, of trust - is very human. Otherwise, on what basis are friendships forged, marriages celebrated, companies created...? Nothing works without confidence. - Why is it so strange trusting in God? It is true we don’t see Him: another reason to live on faith. God is God, He is not a soccer referee!
