To be brothers of Jesus we must listen to and fulfill the Word of God

To be brothers of Jesus we must listen to and fulfill the Word of God
Tuesday of the Twenty-fifth Week in Ordinary Time
Gospel text
Lk 8:19-21
“My mother and my brothers are those who hear the word of God and act on it.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today the words of Jesus have consequences because they come from afar. In the antiquity the love of God was centered on animal sacrifices. This was just a shadow of the true worship. God does not need animals, and sins can’t be erased with the animal’s blood. How many times do we make "sacrifices" and it turns out that it is not what my parents or brothers need? Nor is it what God expects, because those are "sacrifices" that "sacrifice" (annoy) others. "Do you really want to honor God?" Adjust yourself to His will. Where is His will? In His Word... and in your prayer. We will all win! And you will be brother (even "mother") of Jesus!
