Parables of Jesus: The Workers in the Vineyard

Parables of Jesus: The Workers in the Vineyard

Gospel text
Mt 20:1-16
“The Kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out at dawn to hire laborers for his vineyard. After agreeing with them for the usual daily wage, he sent them into his vineyard. Going out about nine o’clock, he saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and he said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard, and I will give you what is just.’"
Gospel's Commentary
Today Jesus tells us about the merciful God who waits for all men, whatever time it may be. He wants all of us with Him in Eternal Life. Even if one arrives later, it doesn’t matter: the gates of heaven are also opened to him. —We are the strange ones when we feel envy of the one who has converted at the last moment and equally deserves eternal happiness.
