Gospel text
Mt 8,5-17
Jesus heard this he was astonished and said to those who were following him, «I tell you, I have not found such faith in Israel».
Gospel's Commentary
Today we see the good outcome of asking God "well" and "the best for us". The centurion – an officer of the Roman army - goes right to Jesus: he knows how to ask well. He does it with humility: "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof"; He says so with a strong faith: "But just say a word and my servant will be healed" In addition, he knows how to ask for "what is good for others": he worries about the lack of health of a servant of his. --The centurion has stolen Jesus' heart, and there is the result:" Go! Let it be done as you believed it would"
