The open Heart of Jesus on the Cross: "They will look upon him whom they have pierced"

The open Heart of Jesus on the Cross: "They will look upon him whom they have pierced"
Solemnity of Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (B)
Gospel text
Jn 19:31-37
When they came to Jesus and saw that he was already dead, they did not break his legs, but one soldier thrust his lance into his side, and immediately blood and water flowed out. An eyewitness has testified, and his testimony is true; he knows that he is speaking the truth, so that you also may come to believe. For this happened so that the scripture passage might be fulfilled: “Not a bone of it will be broken.” And again another passage says: “They will look upon him whom they have pierced.”
Gospel's Commentary
Today, we contemplate astonished the "burst Heart" of Christ. He was already dead! Was this last act of violence necessary? Jesus wanted to remain with the "open heart" so that, entering it, we have access to the love of the Father and of the Holy Spirit. This is God: Open Infinite Love. - That spear thrust could not hurt Christ, because he had already given his life. But it hurt the Virgin Mary. Did it hurt you?
