Bearing his own cross, Jesus went out of the city to what is called the Place of the Skull, in Hebrew: Golgotha. There He was crucified (...). Jesus said, «It is accomplished». Then He bowed his head and gave up the spirit.
Gospel's Commentary
Today, Christ completes the feet wash that began yesterday as He instituted the Eucharist at the Cenacle. Today Jesus completes His Bloodshed which began yesterday as He sweated blood when praying in Gethsemane. Today the Lord, patient and merciful, takes the "good thief" to Heaven...
-And we? "Father, forgive them." He has apologized to us! And if this were not enough, He does not leave us orphans: "'Woman, there you have your son'". Then he says to the disciple: 'There you have your mother.' And from that moment on the disciple took her into his house. Do you have Mary in your house too?
